The Problem with Digital Memory
We take more photographs than ever before. Thousands of images accumulate on our phones, in cloud storage, and across social media feeds. Yet, for all that abundance, the moments we care about most can become harder to hold onto—buried deeper with every new upload, harder to find, and easier to lose in the noise.
A digital photograph is not the same as a physical object. There is a difference—felt more than explained—between scrolling past an image on a screen and picking something up, turning it over in your hands, or setting it somewhere visible in your home.
Physical objects carry weight, literally and otherwise. They occupy space. They become part of our surroundings in a way that a file stored on a phone does not.
The Idea Behind a Snapling™
At Kit n Kat Shop®, we started with a simple belief: some moments deserve more than a screen.
A Snapling™ is a custom 3D figurine created from a photograph you love. It might be a photograph of your pet, a person you miss, a child at a particular age you want to remember, or a moment that mattered in a way that surprised you.
The process begins with you sending us a photo—ideally one with good natural light, a clear subject, and a full- or mid-body view. Multiple photographs are always welcome and can help us better understand the subject's features, markings, posture, and personality.
From there, we translate those images into a custom three-dimensional model. Each piece is carefully produced, finished, and inspected before it leaves our studio.
The result is something that lives in your space rather than on your screen.

Why Turning a Memory Physical Changes Something
Memory is not a perfect recording. As time passes, details can soften, shift, or become harder to recall. A familiar expression, a particular posture, or the way a pet's markings framed their face may remain emotionally vivid even as the finer details begin to fade.
Physical keepsakes can provide a steady point of connection. They preserve one chosen moment in a form that remains visible and tangible.

What the Process Looks Like
Ordering a Snapling™ begins with a photograph and follows a thoughtful, hands-on process:

Select your photograph. Choose a clear image with natural light and an unobstructed view of the subject. Full- and mid-body photographs work especially well.

Place your order and upload your images. You can submit your primary photograph along with additional reference images that show other angles, markings, or important details.

We prepare the digital model. Your photographs are used to build a custom three-dimensional interpretation of the subject.

Your keepsake is produced and finished. The model is created using durable, display-grade material, then carefully finished and inspected.

Your Snapling™ arrives ready to display. It is packaged with care and sent to its new home, ready to be placed on a shelf, desk, mantel, or anywhere the memory belongs.
Our standard production time is typically 7–10 days before shipping. More detailed or complex custom pieces may require additional time so that we can give every order the attention it deserves.
More Than a Product
Kit n Kat Shop® began with our own cats, Kit and Kat, a 3D printer, and a simple thought: perhaps the things we love most deserve to be made permanent.
What began as a personal project became something larger—a Buildcraft™ studio centered on the idea that meaningful moments are worth preserving and that the objects in our homes can hold more than aesthetic value.
They can hold memory, love, personality, and presence.
Kit and Kat remain at the heart of everything we create. They inspired the name, the first sculptures, and the belief that a familiar shape can carry an entire story.
